Their goal is for you to have a great time. Aside from the amazing food, they use music and chill vibes to hook you in. It's amazing. Fun tip: get a bottle of sake from a nearby bodega and drink it during your omakase.
Such a wonderful dinner. The chef was amazing and did a fantastic job accommodating our allergies and needs. We went with my 8 year old daughter and he left off the wasabi, scallion, chives and ginger for her. I am gluten and dairy free and he modified everything perfectly. The sushi is so fresh and melts in your mouth. The courses were creative but didn’t go overboard with toppings- all of the additions were thoughtful and complemented the fish. They focus on seasonal fish and change their menu a few times a year. Would definitely go back. Perfect for a fun weeknight dinner or a date night.
Upon entering this restaurant, it may appear empty, but don’t let that discourage you. The experience is truly exceptional. I visited on a Sunday evening, arriving a little before my 6:15 PM reservation to enjoy dinner with a friend. The intimate atmosphere and attentive service made for an outstanding experience, especially since we were the only guests in the restaurant for a while. We received personalized attention, and I can confidently say the service was excellent. Our waiter was friendly, engaging, and took the time to converse with us, making the evening even more enjoyable. The sushi was absolutely delicious. I’ve been to multiple Omakase experiences throughout New York, and I’m thrilled to add this one to my list of favorites. Since it was my friend’s first time trying sushi, we made the staff aware, and they went above and beyond by explaining every piece in detail and even showing him pictures of the fish each piece came from. I am so grateful for that level of thoughtful, personalized service. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this spot to anyone seeking a fun, intimate, delicious, and memorable dining experience.
The Omakase I had yesterday was absolutely phenomenal! The freshness of the ingredients was unparalleled, and every bite brought out the pure, natural flavors of the fish. The chef’s precision and skill in preparing each piece of sashimi and sushi were nothing short of masterful—it felt like art on a plate. The [uni and tuna] was a standout for me, with its buttery texture and rich flavor that melted in my mouth. Every course was perfectly balanced, and the flavors complemented each other so well. This was truly one of the best meals I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait to go back and taste more!
An unassuming joint with fine omakase. After having gone to Japan, I expected to this to be a step down, but against my expectations this was a step up. We got tourist malarkey over there but here I recieved simple, clear, and tasty experience. Would recommebd doing omakase over alaxarte for sure.
I recently had the omakase at Kaki, and it was an amazing experience! For 75, you get 15 delicious bites, each crafted with care and attention to detail. The quality was top-notch, and every piece was flavorful and fresh. One highlight is that they offer free house sake with your meal, which was a great complement to the sushi. On top of that, the restaurant accepts BYOD, making it even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the food was so good that I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
Amazing omakase, been to at least 20 omakase spots in NYC and this one has the freshest cuts of fish. Simply prepared, classic with subtle additions. Fun atmosphere, BYOB, highly recommend. 1 hr 15 min seating, 85 for several courses.
hidden gem! Don’t miss this nice spot! Chef was very engaging and friendly! Each sushi nigiri was so tasty! The O- toro fatty tuna with Caviar was one of my favorite bites. I will definitely recommend to my friends and we’ll be back soon!
